Advertisements are not always obvious or subtle, as in the case of billboards or subliminal messages, and sometimes are the result of news or any authority figure. Much of what we buy and support is the result of advertising, and also the lacking of personal fulfillment, which many tend to fill with mostly useless materials. Likewise many of us feel emotionally or physically lonely for lack of connectivity with others even with social media.
